JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |THERE IS LIFE IN THE SON
As humans, we all know that mortality will prove itself to be our own personal disease. We may suppress this knowledge, and we may even fight hard against it, but we cannot deny it forever. As the only human to ever conquer death, Jesus is the authority on the subject, and He made some blatantly direct statements about death and life. In this message, we will consider the weighty warning and the profound promise of Jesus’ message regarding life and the final resurrection. "JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | THERE IS LIFE IN THE SON ".

JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | MARVELING AT THE SON
Jesus Christ said and did some stunning things, but not the kinds of things one might expect from a historical figure who turned the world upside-down. Jesus never wrote a book, never ruled as an earthly king, and never amassed public prestige or worldly wealth. He lived as an odd Jewish teacher and prophet, and He died as a lonely martyr. And yet, Jesus made claims of incomparable height... He claimed to be equal with God, the judge of the world, and the giver of life. The biblical Jesus deserves our astonishment, but life comes to those who hear and believe Him. "JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | MARVELING AT THE SON ".

    COMMUNION SUNDAY |REMEMBERING CHRIST
For nearly 2,000 years Christians have celebrated, remembered, and proclaimed the person and work of Christ through the ordinance of Communion (or Lord’s Supper). However, many professing Christians disagree about what this ordinance means or what Christians actually do when they participate in it. In this message, we shall take a brief look at the three major views of the Lord’s Supper, noting the strengths and weaknesses where we find them. We shall also emphasize the meaning and value of remembering Christ in this special way."COMMUNION SUNDAY | REMEMBERING CHRIST ".

JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |LIVING LIKE WE BELIEVE JESUS
Jesus Christ is both the Savior of sinners and the Judge of the world. Both concepts should always be kept in close proximity in our minds, but often we are inclined towards one over the other. While many people deny Jesus’ ability to judge the world, they often reject Jesus because of His claims to do so (particularly His claims of divinity). Many other people love the idea of Jesus as rescuer, but they resist any attempt to bring them under submission to Jesus as Lord, Ruler, or Master. In this message, we will consider these two distinct responses and the consequences of them. For it seems that the Gospel writer is calling his reader to avoid both. JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |BELIEVING CHRIST’S WORD
Jesus performed many miracles during His earthly ministry. He healed the lame, gave sight to the blind, and even brought the dead back to life. Jesus’ miracles were a major reason for His notoriety, but Jesus urged His hearers to look beyond the things He was doing. His greater interest was that His hearers would listen faithfully to His words. In our day, many people are still quite interested in having Jesus do something for them. Yet, the most potent effects that Jesus may produce in us will come as a result of His words and not His hands."JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | BELIEVING CHRIST’S WORD ".

JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |LIVING ON MISSION
When Jesus met a sinful woman at a Samaritan well, He made it clear that He was on a mission to see her come to know Him as Savior. All that followed this intentional encounter is instructive for Christians today. In our passage, there are bad examples to avoid, good examples to follow, and necessary lessons. In this message, we shall consider a biblical directive for all Christians. We are to live on mission, following the example of our Savior who did and does the same."JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | LIVING ON MISSION ".

RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES |SECURE IN CHRIST
One expression that is often associated with Southern Baptists is, “Once saved, always saved.” The phrase is sometimes misunderstood and even misused, but we (at FBC Diana) are interested in affirming what the phrase was originally meant to convey. Southern Baptists do believe that Christians can never lose their salvation, but there are a few vital things related to such a statement. In this message, we will consider the meaning and implications of this imprecise phrase."RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES | SECURE IN CHRIST ".

JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER
Our common experiences often leave us with empty and foolish notions of both grace and truth. Grace, it is assumed, is something less than judgment but nothing of genuine expense. It is something everyone is due, but we rarely hear how this might square with some serious offense. Truth, especially in our day, is a wax nose that may be shaped according to preference. The only truly true truth is that there is nothing that is absolutely true in every circumstance. However, Jesus does not play by our modern (or post-modern) rules of social etiquette. He speaks with piercing truth and subduing grace. We may learn much from this unexpected encounter between Jesus and a woman at a well in Sychar."JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER ".

JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |JOY IN THE ONE ABOVE ALL
How can you increase your joy? Well, now... That is a good question. It is also a question that many ask and many answer quite differently. Some say you need more stuff or better experiences; some say you need only to look within. The wise person, however, does not seek to answer the most pressing questions with mere opinion or subjectivity. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself, and there we find His objective word on the matter. In our passage, we meet a man with complete and transcendent joy. We shall investigate the source of his joy and what we may learn from this example. "JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | JOY IN THE ONE ABOVE ALL ".

JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE |THE PROFOUND LOVE OF GOD
The best-known verse of the Bible is likely John 3:16. One major reason for this is the verse’s focus on the love of God. God’s love is wide and selfless, available and welcoming. And yet, it is very likely that the love of God many people think about when they think of this verse is far less profound than the love of God truly explained there. John’s Gospel sets God’s love on spectacular display. In this message, we shall investigate and marvel at the profound love of God."JOHN: THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE | THE PROFOUND LOVE OF GOD ".
