RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES |BAPTISM: RAISED TO NEW LIFE
Every community, association, and group has at least one designating sign of inclusion. If you are included, then you bear the mark or marks of the group. If you are excluded (even if only for a time), then you lack the designating mark or marks. Christianity has a number of designating signs, but the singular initiating sign of Christian discipleship is “believer’s baptism.” Believers in Christ seek to obey and learn from their Savior and Master, knowing that every benefit comes from being united to Christ. In this message, we shall consider some basic questions about baptism, and we shall also note the life associated with those who are baptized followers of Christ."RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES | BAPTISM: RAISED TO NEW LIFE ".

RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES |THE EARTHY WORD OF GOD
Southern Baptists have traditionally been called “people of the book” because of their tight grip on the Bible as the word of God. Many in higher education today deny such a ‘naïve’ claim about the Bible, but it is still quite common for regular Christians to say they believe the Bible is truly the word of God. And yet, the average Christian lives as though the Bible is irrelevant, outdated, and inaccessible. Many Bibles sit on shelves or tables without the slightest bit of wear, since the purchaser of that precious book hasn’t the inkling to mine its innumerable treasures. In this message, we shall consider what Southern Baptists mean by saying, “the Bible is the word of God;” and we shall consider some practical applications for those who want to live as though they really believe it is. RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES |SECURE IN CHRIST
One expression that is often associated with Southern Baptists is, “Once saved, always saved.” The phrase is sometimes misunderstood and even misused, but we (at FBC Diana) are interested in affirming what the phrase was originally meant to convey. Southern Baptists do believe that Christians can never lose their salvation, but there are a few vital things related to such a statement. In this message, we will consider the meaning and implications of this imprecise phrase."RETHINKING THE CHURCH: BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES | SECURE IN CHRIST ".
