Dealing With Death
Most of us avoid thinking about death until we are forced to do so.  Someone we love is unexpectedly taken from us in a painful moment of grief, we hear a dreadful diagnosis from our own medical doctor, or we watch our elderly relatives and friends slowly drift from vibrant life to uncharacteristic inactivity.  Death is an odd topic because we all would avoid ever thinking of it if we could, and yet we all must face the reality that death will be part of our own personal experience.  Our contemporary culture offers a particular perspective of death, and the Bible offers another.  Death is never good, it is always bad, but it does not have to be trivialized or feared by those who are in Christ.

    What is the Church?
I wonder if the answer that many might give to the question (“What is a church?”) might be less than helpful; at times it may even be dangerous.  One’s understanding of what defines a church will have a direct impact on his or her expectation of church membership. The Bible actually has much to say about what a church is and what a church is supposed to do.

    Marriage Defined and Defended
Marriage has become a "wax nose" for many in our culture today, a thing to be shaped and molded as anyone sees fit.  The concept of marriage, however, goes back much further than many may realize.  The Bible has much to teach us about marriage and the value of this marvelous institution.  Marriage is clearly defined and held in high honor on the pages of holy Scripture.
